Angela Smith
LMHC
My journey to becoming a therapist began amidst personal struggles stemming from childhood trauma and family dysfunction, which had deeply affected my life. Therapy, both inpatient and outpatient, helped illuminate the underlying issues driving my choices and emotions, guiding me on a path to healing and self-love. Inspired by the profound impact of therapy, I pursued a Master's degree in Psychology at Springfield College, later obtaining my license as a Mental Health Counselor in Florida (MH213223).

With over 27 years in the field, including 24 in residential treatment and 3 in private practice, I've developed a diverse skill set across various specialties such as Trauma/PTSD, Mental Health issues like Depression and Anxiety, Addictions, and Eating Disorders, treating clients aged 5 to 85. My approach is personalized, eschewing one-size-fits-all methods to meet clients where they are. Among my credentials, I am a Certified Trauma Therapist, EMDR Level 2, Certified Hypnotherapist, and I hold numerous other certifications in methods like DBT, SE, and Brain Spotting, continually advancing my expertise in therapies like Play Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS). My career is a testament to the transformative power of targeted therapy, offering each client a tailored path to recovery and self-discovery.
